Stigian 1,234 #1 Posted June 5, 2013 Hi guy's, the M12 in my 312 has developed a slight running problem... After spending about 20 mins cutting the grass the other day, my 312 suddenly went into "limp mode".. The engine would run, but only at tick over speed.. Any throttle and it would bog down and stop.. So I limped it back to the shack and parked it up.. Yesterday I had to move the 312 out the shack and it started first time and ran perfectly.... For about 10 mins until it went into limp mode again.. So today I have just checked the gas tank for crud, it's quite clean. And changed to fuel filter for a new one.. Now it will only run in limp mode!!! Any ideas?
MarkPalmer 81 #2 Posted June 5, 2013 The most common culprits for this symptom- Vent hole in gas cap clogged Fuel filter clogged (you already addressed that) Fuel pump weak or bad Bad fuel lines (collapsing under vacuum) Bad ignition condenser/points out of adjustment (does not apply to Kohler Magnum) Bad ignition coil (can apply to Magnum but uncommon) -Mark-

Stigian 1,234 #6 Posted June 7, 2013 Thanks guys, it was the crab playing about... A good clean up of the carb had the 312 running sweet again.... Just in time for a rather heavy delivery yesterday.. And I even managed to get the rest of the lawn cut..
