Hello everyone?

I need some expert advise on trouble shooting.  I was pulling yard sprayer and spraying for weeds and after 1/2 hour of work the tractor went dead.  Replaced battery still dead, the headlights will not work, nothing on the dashboard works such as lights fuel gauge and voltmeter.  The one 30 amp in fuse block was replaced because the other was kind of melted.  Replaced with new one and still nothing.  I'm beginning to think the key switch went bad.  The tractor has 680 hours on it and this is the first time I experinced any trouble like this.

Thanking everyone in advance for their expert opinion.

Check all you connections at the fuses and relay. If the 30 amp fuse was melted you need to look into that. Check and make sure you are getting power through that fuse and through the fuse holder.

Save Old Iron

Plastic fuse casing is melted - heat melts plastic - heat is produced by heavy current traveling thru a significant amount of resistance (think electric soldering iron) - heavy current is available from the tractor charge system - so where does the resistance come from to complete this logic?

Corroded fuse holder contact or fuse holder wiring to contact corrosion
