gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,500 #2 Posted June 3, 2013 There are not many tractor service manuals but this 1978-79 covers many years and models. The 300-Series was the C-Series. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1930-tractor-1978-1979-b-c-and-d-series-sm-section1-4-810063r1pdf/ This section 5 has the drive belt replacement http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1931-tractor-1978-1979-b-c-and-d-series-sm-section5-810063r1pdf/ http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1932-tractor-1978-1979-b-c-and-d-series-sm-section6-810063r1pdf/ http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/files/file/1933-tractor-1978-1979-b-c-and-d-series-sm-section7-9-810063r1pdf/ Garry
thehorse 221 #3 Posted June 3, 2013 If sitting on the tractor the right side is the drive belt side. To make the installation very simple, remove the foot rest and side sheet metal. After that look hoe old belt was in and remove old belt. Put new one on accordingly. The time to take a few things off can save some pinched fingers and 4 letter words later. Not hard at all, just have to mussel the idler pulley a little and then it's like putting a chain on a bicycle.
Fordiesel69 271 #4 Posted June 4, 2013 And don;t be alarmed if the clutch pedal does not come back all the way straight. After a few HRS the belt will strech to a point where it will stay for many years.
