homegrownusa 4 #1 Posted June 1, 2013 Local long time toro dealer had my 520 h for 3 weeks and states they cant fix the hydraulic leak because parts are not available. I think it has a leak at the deck lift valve only which is located just to the right of the deck lift arm. They said they tried a hydraulic co. And they could not get the part either. Not sure what to do next. They said to come and pick it up. So much for their parts replacers! Can anybody help?
WH nut 553 #2 Posted June 1, 2013 There really isnt much that can cause a leak at the control valve. A couple of orings unless the valve itself is worn out. Take it a part and have a look see. You arent out anything but a little time.
homegrownusa 4 #3 Posted June 1, 2013 I agree but they say the rebuild kit is not available.
WH nut 553 #4 Posted June 1, 2013 I agree but they say the rebuild kit is not available. So you take it a part and match up the orings. Unless the spools are severly scored you should be ok.
homegrownusa 4 #5 Posted June 1, 2013 I guess if it turns out to be this simple I dont need to consult this shop anymore. 3 weeks of push mowing is good for the heart, i guess.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,500 #6 Posted June 1, 2013 Looks like you have a 110068 Victor valve that uses a 109081 repair kit. Shows as still available at Toro. Here is the service manual Garry
MalMac 1,332 #7 Posted June 1, 2013 Like said if your spool is not scarred bad or some other catastrophic fail which is very unlikely. You just need simple orings. You need to check out Classic Kitchens and More web site. They carry what you need at a fraction of the cost. I just used one of thier kits to replace orings in one of mine. For what it's worth I think that dealer was lazy and was just yanking you around. This seems to be happening more and more ever since Toro stop the Wheel Horse line. homegrownusa 4 #8 Posted June 1, 2013 You fellows are awesome. Where did you ever find wheels horse parts at Classic Kitchens and more???? I emailed to verify their 9 dollar kit will work on my 520H. I unfortunately can not read my tractor serial number anymore and I don't have it wrote down anywhere so I can't seem to look up stuff on the toro sight because you have to have serial number. Any idea what I can do to print repair manuals and such. I am almost 100% certain it is a 1989 wheel horse. It is not toro. It is a 520h. It is the one in my picture icon. This wheel horse forum is the best forum I have ever used. It makes me proud to be a wheel horse owner. Thanks guys!
homegrownusa 4 #9 Posted June 1, 2013 Classic Kitchen does not have a kit. Any other places I can check?
MalMac 1,332 #10 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) what year of 520 do you have? Sorry just read prior post. Edited June 1, 2013 by MalMac
varosd 1,185 #11 Posted June 1, 2013 From your avatar picture, your 520-H is a 1988/89 vintage and Wheel Horse was already owned by Toro. they didn't start adding their logo until later. check under the Manuals link at the top of the page. there is multiple hydo lift downloads
pacer 3,177 #12 Posted June 1, 2013 As already mentioned take it apart, take it to a hyd supplies store (here where I live it is a bearing service/hyd store) and its a very good likelihood they can fix you up - as said probably just O rings.
MalMac 1,332 #13 Posted June 1, 2013 Ok I was mistaken on Classic Kitchens. I did kit from Toro to rebuild the valve. It was ridiculously priced. As far as I can tell it's still available. For what it cost I would try and match up the two O-rings with something from a Hardware store.
