520-8 Onan

The 520 is runnin' like a clock, forget the "idiot" lights.

Charging at 14-16 volts (per the gage). When I turn lights on, volt gage drops to 10-12 volts.

Doesn't however seem to do anything. Should I investigate? Necessary PM needed?

tankman,

check the battery voltage with a multimeter

see if it matches the response of the tractor voltmeter

i'm guessing the battery will not change by 2 volts under headlight load.

If you use your multimeter to measure voltage present at the tractor voltmeter (any pink wire) and your multimeter reading agrees with the tractor voltmeter reading - then

corrosion in the 25 amp fuse holder, ignition switch wiring and the 15 amp fuse holder would be the likely suspects.
