squonk 43,866 #51 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) Another thing is a lot of people spend beyond their means. I needed another vehicle this spring. I easily could have gone down to the local Chevy dealer and bought a $40,000 truck. I could even make the payments. Thing is I didn't want to. I was cringing at the thought of $15000 for a nice used one. I sold my motorcycle that I didn't ride enough and sold my old truck and only had to come up with $1000 for the vehicle I have now that is a dream to drive. I didn't have to "dip" into my hobby money at all and no payments.. Edited May 27, 2013 by squonk

HorseWhisperer 243 #54 Posted May 30, 2013 Is the 953 a runner?? The 953 is a sweet runner.Quite a surprise since it was unknown at purchase.I got it home, flushed the garbage from the lines.I put fresh petrol in and changed the oil, scratched up the points and it fired with no smoke. It's patina is perfect and it runs and moves better. The O rings on the lift cylinder leak and the return spring on the Hy-2 isn't working but it works in its entirety. The motor is kitty kat. HorseWhisperer 243 #56 Posted May 30, 2013 Another thing to think about is "time" as well as money. From Central PA, to Conn takes time and gas money for me. I need to head south toward Virginia to trade for a KT-17 series II and there just isn't any time to do it. Your prices are right where they need to be and you know the machines are worth it. If your after a KT17 series ll this thing runs so good.I have a guy comin Saturday from Scranton and woodchuckfarmer is next dibs.I will reach out if no one wants it.It needs a good home. groundhog47 347 #57 Posted May 30, 2013 Just seems like out this way in these parts the enthusiast are few and far between! They wouldn't last a day in the Midwest!I'm gonna just close the doors up on the barn and let the horses go blind.A good friend of mine has always said"They don't eat nothin"just put em aside but if I did that I would have 30 of em! I have never been to the Big Show (like to someday, when I can afford it). My question is: Do you go to the show to find what you are looking for at a fair price or do you want to walk away with a steal? I'm a show virgin this year Jim.I'm going to bring a big box of smalls,do some trading buying and selling and see a whole bunch of nit wits like myself that call this a hobby( obsession)!Just gonna camp, drool and hopefully not see any stealing! Don't feel so bad, I tried selling this refurbished 633 for 400 or best offer. Not one bite, I really felt 400 was givin it away. It left my house today in a trade I did with my brother. I agree with Squonk, many guys are hoarding cash right now for the Big Show. I would have bought that today.I'm trying to get littleredrider to come off his currently!lol You've got that right about not last long on Classified over this area. Ya'll are blessed with many, HorseWisperer, some one will come along wantin' em
