deadheadmike 1 #1 Posted May 19, 2013 hi. I have an older model wheel horse riding mower. I think it's from around 1990-1995. when I turn the key it goes whirrrrr. a couple times it has started after I rolled the mower a few feet. battery is practically new. seems like starter is not engaging. I'm not very mechanical so any help will be greatly appreciated. thank you, mike
WH nut 553 #2 Posted May 19, 2013 take a screw driver and see if you can push the starter drive towards the motor. Sometimes the get stuck. If that works spray some card cleaner on the shaft and lube with a dry lube
