Fordiesel69 271 #26 Posted May 23, 2013 This problem has been going on too long. Cut the diagnostic time down and do this: 1.) Buy a new gas line and connect to some kind of extra gas tank or breather nipple of a 1 gal gas can. 2.) Connect to carburetor directly and elevate gas can a good amount above the carb, for a nice gravity feed. A nice stream should flow out the hose if you have it high enough. 3..) Try engine without choke and with close to factory adjustments. If no improvement, after checking intake gasket, plain and simple the carb needs stripped cleaned, and possibly rebuilt again. If the gas can trick solves the problem you will need to find out if the gas tank, line, or pump is the problem.
cgambino1018 28 #27 Posted May 25, 2013 Ok, seems to be working fine now.. Running smooth, with no choke, and screws at normal positions. I didnt take the carb off and clean it, I cleaned the bowl, and just strayed cleaner into the carb while it was running. also new gas lines (from filter to pump and pump to carb; didn't replace tank to filter gas line), new gas filter, blew air into tank to get any debris away from being sucked in. Thanks to everyone in helping narrow down and resolve the issue.
wallfish 18,242 #28 Posted May 25, 2013 So what do you think the problem was?
cgambino1018 28 #29 Posted May 25, 2013 I would say the carb was clogged. I sprayed about a 1/2 can into it and at one point right after spraying, turned it off for about 3 hours to let it soak in. Chris btw John your pic has a loader and backhoe. what model machine are those attachment on? I have a 312 can I get a loader and backhoe onto mine?
wallfish 18,242 #30 Posted May 25, 2013 It's a 416-8. Yes, your tractor could handle a loader and the hoe. The loader is a factory Ark loader and the backhoe is home built from plans supplied by PF Engineering.com They sell plans to build loaders too.
