Kevbo 81 #1 Posted May 16, 2013 I am planning on doing some carb cleaning in the future and was wondering if the gaskets are all universal on the K series carbs? What would be the part number for the gasket to the engine block and what would be the part number for the gasket to the air filter housing? What is/are the common model(s) for the carbs used on the K series? If you look at my list below I have a wide range of Kohler HP engines. Thanks guys!! MarkPalmer 81 #3 Posted May 16, 2013 For about a $25.00 investment, you can make your own paper gaskets. You get a roll of gasket material from auto parts or farm store, (about $8.00, and lasts a long time), the set of hollow punches from Harbor Freight, (about $10.00), and an X-Acto knife, (about $5.00). They are fun and easy to make, just use the parts as a template and trace with a pencil. I started doing this a few years ago when I began restoring engines that gasket sets are no longer available for, but now I make them for just about everything as it saves a lot of time in waiting for ordered sets to arrive, and an incredible amount of money. -Mark-
