1974-B-80 52 #1 Posted May 12, 2013 I bought a Kohler K-161T yesterday with a gas tank to replace the H60 to have more power and the h60 needs a total rebuild, so I'll do it later. I put the k161T on with the gas tank and I only have about a half inch of space between the head of the engine and the tank. Is it suppose to be like that or do I have the wrong size tank? What size tank is the original 604 tank?
squonk 43,939 #2 Posted May 12, 2013 The original tank is oval shaped and sits on a shelf attached to the hood tower. I think it hold about a gal.
1974-B-80 52 #3 Posted May 12, 2013 Ok the tank I have looks very similar. It's 6 1/2" wide and 11" long. Is that right?

1974-B-80 52 #7 Posted May 13, 2013 Then I'll use the tank I have but cut about an inch off the front to make the tank strap fit and also keep the tank a good distance away from the engine
