Don1977 605 #4 Posted May 11, 2013 I look at the assembly drawings. It' just a typical vertical shaft lawn tractor with a cast iron Wheel Horse front axle and rear fender styled like the 300/ 400 series.
Whmaverick 54 #5 Posted May 12, 2013 I gave my father-in-law a 265-6speed just to mow with, he loves it, of course I repowered it with a 20hp kohler v-shaft and found a 48" deck for it. Just be warned, If and when it comes time to change the drive belt, it's a booger!
Hodge71 665 #6 Posted May 12, 2013 I passed on it after the owner said it needed a drive belt soon and I saw what was all entailed in doing that....WOW is an understatement....
546cowboy 302 #7 Posted May 12, 2013 I had a 269H and had to replace that belt. When I went to my local dealer to get one they were very relieved when I told them I was going to replace it. They were more than happy to let me use their service manual. They said it would take them 2 1/2 hours to do it. It took me just under three hours. You would not believe all the stuff you have to remove to replace that belt.
