Tiller mounting on a C with a lift up fender with tool box

I understand how a tiller mounts with the lever under the seat on a newer C or 300/400/500 series tractor, but how does it mount when you have a lift up fender with tool box?  is there some sort of lever or something totally different?

The chain on the tiller just connects right to the cable.  That is how I did it for years with no problem.

I have a 1277 that someone drilled the holes through the sides and put the rear lift in it that way. They welded spacers to the outsides of the tool box for strength rather than nerrowing it down to fit.
