Wheel Horse Disc on 1964 - 1054 tractor

I used my dad's 1964 Wheel Horse tractor yesterday with my Wheel Horse disc attachment to break up a small garden plot my mother wanted.     The disc is about 40 years old and I greased it up (about 5 or 6 fittings on this) and sharpened the discs for cutting the soil.

Anyway I thought some photos were in order.   It is amazing to see how the hydraulic lift lifts the disc with two cement blocks on the tractor with no problems after each pass in the garden.

Here is a photo looking down at the rear hitch and disc.  The disc angles can be changed by sliding the sleeve on the lift hitch arm and securing with a pin or bolt.

Nice attachment on the WH....And you can disc at night with all those headlights!

I know where there is a disc sitting in a guys yard...Not sure what shape it is in, but he knows I want it and said to "trade" something for it.

I better get my butt in gear before he sells it for scrap!

I sold a disc at Mentone and could have sold 10 of them !  A lot of interest in the disc attachment.  But you need one in good shape to use it.

I bought this Wheel Horse Disc attatchment(ID#42D501-05468) and it will work with my slot hitch or be pulled by one of my Lawn Rangers.

Could be a 1976 model 67-42DS01, 1977 model 77-42DS01 or 1978-1980 model 87-42DS01.

Only manual we have

The previous owner said it came from a 73' -16 HP wheel horse tractor. Like the manual says, it designed to be used on a clevis hitch. but I can put it on my slot hich or hook it to the trailer hitch of a ranger and just pull it around. Works nice for me!! :)

Terry:  I think the angle iron frame makes your disc better to handle and more sturdy thatn that older cast iron pieces on my disc.

Thanks Lane,I'm not sure because its the first harrow disc attatchment i've ever owned.  I just put some weight on it and it works nice.... so nice I could get by without using the moldboard plow... although I do like yours with that rotating draw bar and the nice platform on top for the blocks :handgestures-thumbupright:
