W.h. Tranny modified to pull utility trailer?

Thinking of taking a transaxle from a 551 and just using the tranny and rear wheels and mounting an engine and a ball on it to pull my tandem axle trailer in and out of my back yard. Does anyone think it would work or ever heard of anyone doing this? Kind of like a tiller with a ball on it.

NO doubt it will work, but why not just use the tractor. especially if you mount the ball on the front of the tractor. you can really do some precision manuevering that way.

So basically you want to make a walk-behind out of a Unidrive and a motor?  could be doable but why ruin a perfectly good 551??
