Motor Head110 7 #1 Posted April 28, 2013 Both jets are bent on my k181. (main and idle). It is a carter model N. Does anyone know where i can get the new jets cheap?
MarkPalmer 81 #2 Posted April 28, 2013 I don't know what you consider cheap but brand new jet needles for the K181 Carter N are available from many vendors online: 232635-S Main Needle- about $20.00 200438 Idle Needle- about $12.00 -Mark-
Motor Head110 7 #3 Posted April 28, 2013 Thats cheap enough for me! (Honestly, id just like to run it above idle!) Thanks so much Mark!
Motor Head110 7 #4 Posted April 29, 2013 Mark, The number u gave me for the main needle is correct, but, when i type in the number for the idle it comes up: Kohler Screw. Is this correct?
MarkPalmer 81 #5 Posted April 29, 2013 I checked again and that is the right number, 200438 for the idle needle. I guess some places just refer to it as a screw.
VinsRJ 723 #6 Posted April 29, 2013 If the needles are bent... make sure the seats are not damaged either.
Motor Head110 7 #7 Posted April 29, 2013 Ok thanks again Mark, that is what I was going to do tonight was check the seats.
MarkPalmer 81 #8 Posted April 29, 2013 Hopefully whoever bent the needles up didn't do so by beefing them down in to the seats. -Mark-
Motor Head110 7 #9 Posted May 1, 2013 whoever bent it did not damage the seats! I went ahead and got a carb off a 10hp k series motor, figuring it would be the same (it wasn't, but thats a story for anotherday) so i just took the needle out of there, slapped it into my k181, and it ran PERFECT!!!! Thanks for all your help everyone!
