At some point they went from battery ignition to magneto ignition on this model. Regardless the points likely need to be cleaned to get spark. tgordonjr82 0 #4 Posted April 27, 2013 serial # is 457642 i know for a fact that it ran last summer and ran when I picked it up but its been sitting all winter so I sand blasted it and painted it looks real good i will attempt to get pics up anyway its cranking over and has plenty of compression but wont start I took the spark plug out and grounded it and still no spark im almost positive that it has to be the ignition coil didnt know if anyone else has had this problem but wanted to know the model so I can get some fancy new decals for it Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
WH nut 553 #5 Posted April 27, 2013 Make sure you have 12 volts to the + side of the coil before you condem it. If you have 12 volts, crank it over and the voltage should go from 12v to 0V if the points are breaking Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
