meadowfield 2,756 #1 Posted April 26, 2013 Finally got the deck hooked up on the ranger and cut the grass. The temperatures have hit double figures and the grass has gone mad! It made quick work, really need to get the noisy spindle bearing fixed!
Stormin 9,985 #2 Posted April 26, 2013 I was going to do a bit myself today. But I had to go up to the farm this morning and by the time I got back, we had thunder, lightening and a hailstorm. .
Anglo Traction 761 #3 Posted April 26, 2013 That's it Mark, now you've cut it , it's gonna grow even faster ! Ranger's looking good....... Managed to do a Rake, Cut & Collect of about an acre last Wednesday (2 1/2 cu mtrs of compressed grass and moss), pretty thick in places, but at least the ground is drying out. Stigian 1,234 #5 Posted April 27, 2013 I guess the temperatures have taken a while to rise up north Mark, did my 3rd cut of the year on Thursday!

wheeledhorseman 579 #7 Posted April 27, 2013 F-F-F-Freezin' darn sarf first thing this morning too! It's a real mixed bag re mowing. The lawn at the house has started growing like mad but out at the barn about 8 miles away the fields still haven't started yet. That long period of cold wind we had dried the surface right up and despite the warmer spell the grass now thinks its too dry to grow. It's a blessing in a way in that there's such a backlog of work to get on after all the bad weather that having to mow would be a pain at present. Did get the 316 out to 'top' last years grass that hadn't been mown and had died back though which was a good test for the Onan repair. Andy
Stigian 1,234 #8 Posted April 28, 2013 A thick frost on the ground and bright sunshine when I got up this morning! The first frost I've seen in a couple of weeks!! Gotta love the Uk weather, I got a bit of a tan cutting the lawn on Thursday, but if you go back three weeks it was snowing here!!
