33mnes 0 #1 Posted April 26, 2013 I have a 1988 312-8 that I am restoring. When I connect the battery the Seat, PTO and Clutch indicator lights on the dash board come on without the key in. Any thoughts on what could be causing this problem. The tractor starts and runs...but the lights will not go out and will drain the battery. I have replaced the seat switch and did not solve the problem. Looking at replacing the PTO interlock Switches to see if this will help. Any thoughts that anyone has would be appreciated. wheeledhorseman 579 #2 Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) I think I'm correct in saying that the circuit board with the lights gets power for testing even when the ignition is off. Even so with the ignition switch in the off position the lamps should only light when the spring toggle switch for testing the bulbs is operated. I had a problem with the board on one of my tractors where a couple of lamps lit all the time and another lit dimly. One fault with switch wiring was found but the main problem was tracked down to the chip on the circuit board. SOI did a good thread on these back on the old site but I'm not sure if it survived the move. Andy Edit - Just found the thread I did on my dashboard lights And here's SOI's thread Hope these are helpful to you.
