JamesBe1 84 #9 Posted April 20, 2013 None of my 482's have an oil filter. I believe the oil filter was a feature on the 582's and larger. You can easily add the oil filter adapter to a 482. However, the filter is horizontal, and when you remove it, I drips all over the place. The sheet metal on the 582's as a trough that catches the oil when you remove the filter. Also, the 582 sheet metal has a cutout for the oil filter. The parts are easy enough to find if you want to add an oil filter to your 482. Keep your eyes open on ebay for when someone is parting out a 582.

Hodge71 665 #14 Posted April 22, 2013 I added afilter to my 18 auto when I redid the tractor last year. It definitely cost more than most would spend but I can tell you its much much better than the factory system. Its plumbed to mount under the engine and uses a fullsize automotive filter. I love it!! There should be pics of it in my post "D series Restoration. Theres pics on page 5 and page 10 shows the final location of the filter.
