bean 85 #26 Posted April 19, 2013 I have a honda 1000 watt generator that I use for power outages. I let it sit with ethanol gas for a few months, and it is such a tiny carb, I cant get the microscopic orifices completely clean. someone mentioned a brown sandy looking buildup, that is what it had. I also had to clean the carb on my snowblower, and now boat
B-100 Dan 7 #27 Posted April 19, 2013 I would not use E-15 in anything, short of a fire starter. Don't like the E-10 at all. Run a tank of it and check your mpg then if you can get it run ethanol free and check the differance, you'll be surprised. When you run alchol fuel in the race cars, you have to run about a 5/8" fuel line just to get enough to the engine to make it run.
bean 85 #28 Posted April 19, 2013 I did add an app for ethanol free gas onto my phone. the closest station is 13 miles. not too bad. I can get 10 gals at a time for the tractors, mower, generator. nice to know it is still available
953 nut 60,224 #29 Posted April 21, 2013 The pure-gas.org website gives a state by state, city by city listing of ethanol-free gas stations. It will let you know what octain or grade each listed station caries in ethanol free gas. Might want to check at the station to see if the info is up to date, if you can find anyone who knows! Hodge71 665 #30 Posted April 21, 2013 Unfortunately I dont have anything within 100 miles of me. Not worth the ride. Thats why I asked about Aviation fuel. I have an airport 5 miles away
B-100 Dan 7 #31 Posted April 22, 2013 I don't know what the octane rating of av. gas is, but it might be a little hot for these small engines. Maybe somebody else will know.

Local here the airport has a couple different fuels. The lowest is supposed to be a low lead 100 octane
