Motor Head110 7 #26 Posted April 14, 2013 I don't have the bore specs in front of me, but as a machinist....007 is alot. That truely is out of round quite a bit. I would think you'd have to run the crap out of it, to oval out the rings to match, and set right. .007 could be a size tolerance, but not an out-of-round tolerance. Not sure if something else is bad here, but this one isn't good. The ring gap should be staggered as stated. I think if your going thru quite a bit of oil, you'd see it dripping down the block by the breather if that was the problem. Seems like your pushing it out the exhaust in raw form. I have noticed that the block is unusally oilly, But im not going thru that much oil. And i do endeed run the crap out of this . Do you really think its that out-of-round? Also, do you think it could be because my stack is "glued" into the block?

This morning, I noticed that it was idling funny. So, i adjusted the idle screw, and the main jet. Now, it only smokes (black) when you throttle it up fast. I dont know what happened with the gray/white smoke. I haven't gotten a chance to get much seat time yet, but we will see! Oh i will also get some pics today! Thanks everyone Brenden

Coadster32 793 #30 Posted April 16, 2013 Good thing you didn't get all worried from that machinist guy. Glad you got it figured out. Alot of the other ideas on this thread could have lead to the same symtoms you were describing as well. Process of elimination, and always start with the easiest, (and cheapest) method first. Kudos to you.
