leeave96 490 #1 Posted April 13, 2013 I believe the manual for my Wheelhorse calls for 90w gear oil, but I'm also thinking older Wheelhorse's called for 90w-140 gear oil. This is for an 8 speed. I've got 2 quarts of 85w-140 oil in my basement. I drained the oil and it had a little moisture in it and thought I'd run the 85w-140 oil in in and then drain after a mowing with the 80w-90 oil I also have. Or should I do the reverse or neither? Both are GL-5 compatible. The tractor is a 314-8 Thanks! Bill
stevasaurus 23,250 #2 Posted April 13, 2013 You will be OK with the 85W-140...but I would run the 80w90 in winter. I believe the manual calls for 90w.
