Rboski 114 #1 Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) I've been visiting the site daily for a couple years now and haven't had much to say. I've learned a ton and I really enjoy reading all your stories and seeing your projects so I thought it was about time I started to share some of my own. I've been wanting a GT14 ever since I first saw a picture of one and it just so happened that there was a pretty good looking machine for sale only and hour away. Overall it's in pretty good shape. I purchased it from the 3rd owner (really nice guy, had a beautiful restored 1965 International 500 crawler). I was told that the 2nd owner had painted it a couple years back. 'm not sure what the plan was for the white hood, but it does appear to be the same as the wheels. I'll be correcting that soon. It's missing the hood latch and the dash and shift plate plastics are in rough shape so they'll be taken care of as well. Also the wiring could use some reworking, looks like there was some cutting and splicing when the front lights were added. Here's a few pics. Hope you all enjoy. 312Hydro 474 #2 Posted April 13, 2013 That's a clean looking GT 14. I don't think I've seen one that nice for sale anywhere. The previous owners obviously took very good care of it. Great score!

squonk 43,899 #5 Posted April 13, 2013 I'd leave the hood white and get some custom decals from Vinylguy!!
neil 2,410 #6 Posted April 13, 2013 Great find , you are gonna enjoy that tractor soooo much, I have one of these also here in UK . They are quite Rare over here appently there was only 50 exported to uk and i only know of about 10 . if you look on that auction site i thnk Joes outdoor power has parts for sale on for GT14 although i have found the shipping costs can be a bit on the high side . the white hood is just screaming out to be painted red again , cannot figure out why the PO would want to have it white. Luckily yours still has the original gas tank as these tractors often have new gas tanks fitted at the heat from exhaust seems to melt the plastic ones. does yours have the original steering wheel cap as these often get lost also , probably because the centre goes out of shape and the cap will not fit anymore. Enjoy your new tractor & Welcome to Redsquare
Wheel-N-It 2,976 #7 Posted April 13, 2013 Thats a nice one! Did you get any attachments with it?

Rboski 114 #9 Posted April 13, 2013 It definitely seems to have been well cared for. There was lots of paperwork with it, manuals service bulletins and a sales receipt for some parts, oh and two new tranny filters. Some of the parts lists are marked up so I have some idea of the parts that were replaced. Still going through all of that. Gas tank appears to be ok, no evidence of any of the seams splitting from what I can see. Definitely no leaking. It came with a long frame snow/dozer blade and tire chains. I think I'll see what I can do to make a snow thrower fit. Started looking at the necessary finishing kits to mount some of the attachments to this one. I think I'll start by making up a front tach-a-matic to fit this frame. I'd love to find a 3 point hitch for it. The engine is a 14HP Kohler. The steering wheel has gone a little out of round in the center but the cap is still there. There's a piece of plastic that has chipped out so it's a surprise that the cap has stayed in there. It's hard to tell in the pictures but the sidewalls on all the tires are pretty cracked. It starts right up and runs great. I changed the fluids as soon as I got it home. Hydro feels pretty strong. It's a bit louder when in gear than the 1970 hydro I had, not sure if that's normal or if the transmission is worn. It is a beast, feels like you're riding a tank. Vinylguy 4,692 #10 Posted April 13, 2013 Welcome Rich and thanks for posting. Awesome GT14 I noticed the decal on your tractor and wondered if it is a dealer decal or something else?
KC9KAS 4,744 #11 Posted April 13, 2013 Very nice looking GT-14......Much nicer looing than my '69. I did get a newer front (solid) grill to help protect the plastic tank. I would probably end up running something into the plastic and have BIG problems! Thank you very mich for the pictures. Some folks have built 3 pt lifts for their GT's. I had plans to build one for mine, but found 1 for sale. I also found an additional hydraulic cylinder & control valve, so the mid cylinder and the 3 pt operate independently. squonk 43,899 #12 Posted April 13, 2013 I still say it would look awesome with the white hood with custom WH red decals down each side done in the script like this hat has.JMHO

Rboski 114 #15 Posted April 14, 2013 You guys are too funny. I had my heart set on red with a set of original style woodgrain hood decals. That decal on the tractor is, or was a dealer decal. It's almost completely gone. There is another dealer decal on the engine. I'll take another look at both of them today. I picked up another set of rear wheels of off epay. Mine are in real bad shape. Neil, since you asked. Here's the steering wheel and cap.
Shynon 7,482 #16 Posted April 14, 2013 Rich Nice looking Gt. I have 2 one with snow blade and 1 will have a blower, i will try to post pics later today of the front attatch a matic. Man these will push snow. I also have most of the parts you would need for a 3 pt. PM if interested in them or any other GT parts. Tom
Wheel-N-It 2,976 #17 Posted April 14, 2013 For some reason the more I look at your Gt-14 (with the read and white paint job), the more it looks like an International Tractor. I'm with Mike. I like it painted the way it is, but you need to do what makes you happy.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,245 #18 Posted April 14, 2013 I say paint it (hood) satin black and clear coat it. Saw a car done that way and I really liked it. Mike......
