252-H snowblower

Recommended Posts

PMaine

I just bought a 1989 252-h today that is in very good shape and I am now looking for a snowblower attachment. Is there a specific blower that i need to be looking for?

To try to get a better idea of what i need to look for can someone post photos of a typical wheel horse hook up? I am not sure how the blower would raise up and down, and belt routing.

Thanks everyone!

You can find the complete attachment list here

https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro

Enter your long model number or 252-H and the Attachments and Accessories link will come up on the right.

Clicking on the model numbers in the list that are red should take you to the illustrated parts lists so you know what they look like.

Armed with the model numbers you can check our manuals to see if we have them.

PMaine,

Welcome to Red Square.  Can always use more representation from the Pine Tree State.

Thanks guys, I found one out of state that I think will fit, they are asking $200. I looked at the manuals, but I still need to ask, can most of these blowers be fitted?

252-H is a vertical shaft tractor, most blowers that you will find are for the more popular horizontal shaft tractors.  That being said other compatible tractors to yours would be the 244-h and 262-h.  Also those tractors were sold under the New Holland(Ford) brand for more years then under Toro, although Toro actually built them.  You may have an easier time finding a Ford/New Holland blower then one that says Toro/Wheel Horse on the side.

Thanks- that explains a lot! Almost makes me wonder if i would be better off trying to fit a "modern" 2 stage blower onto it.

Upon looking at this 252 attaching a blower is going to be some work. I bought this on impulse due to condition and the wheel horse name, didnt know about the differences between this and more typical models.

Where in Maine are you? I have a neighbor that may have a blower that will fit your tractor.

I live in Waterville, Maine.  I have a Wheelhorse 252-H.  I am looking for a snowblower attachment.  I should have bought one when my Dad told me to, but, of course, I knew more than he did.  Well, he was right.  I wish that he were hear so that I could tell him, but he probably knew it at the time anyway.  I hope so.  I would be very grateful for any help that you could provide.  I can call Teague's in Fairfield, and they can provide me with the exact information I need.  Thank you.  Logan~

I called Tegue's.  I need a 252-H or 257-H (05 or 06-37-SK01) with a riveted black plate on snowthrower.  Is this helpful?  Logan~

The 37" snowthower is 06-37SK01

A 05-37SK01 is a 37" side discharge mower deck.
