persof 14 #1 Posted March 25, 2013 I have a 07-36TL04 tiller that is missing the rear flap. I want to make a new one and would like for someone to post some closeup pics of the hinge parts ( with a ruler next to it ) so that I can fabricate the hinge parts correctly. Thanks Francis
Tim 97 #2 Posted March 26, 2013 for what is worth, i used a piece of flat stock and a couple of barn door hinges that i cut the long part off of. worked fine
GlenPettit 1,717 #3 Posted March 27, 2013 The flap is exactly 36" wide and 5" tall, a heavy gauge metal, same as the top/front of the tiller. Held on with a 36" long "Continuous Hinge". This other one below has been bent up real bad several times and re-banged out; when I back-up, the flap often gets caught on a tine & stops turning. When I do make a new flap, it will may be just 3" rather than 5", -- or maybe made of a real firm rubber (like the one TSC sells for conveyor belts). Granger has the 3' heavy-duty hinges for about $15, flap is held on with 8 pairs of carr bolts. I do use this dedicated 416 with tiller a lot, Spring, Summer & Fall. Good luck with your rebuild, let us know how it comes out. Glen Always wondered what that little 'L' bracket on the very back is for (no hole in it) ???
persof 14 #4 Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks, Mine appears to use three 1.25" slots on the tiller where your hinge is so I think that there were bent metal tabs, maybe indicating that the flap was removeable. Is the metal 1/8" or 3/16" thick? and thanks again Francis
mdclem 12 #5 Posted March 28, 2013 I just put mine on that has the same configuration. Its a little beat and bent up tho but should give you a good idea. If no one beats me to it, I'll post pics when I get home this evening
