WheelHorse_of_course 99 #1 Posted August 8, 2008 So what is a 260? B)
Docwheelhorse 2,559 #2 Posted August 8, 2008 If I remember correctly a 260 was a vertical shaft tractor (twin cylinder Kohler???) with a hydrostatic non uni-drive transmission that also happens to be NLA. My local dealer has one sitting in mint shape but with a dead trani and no way to help the customer out.... It does have the 23" rear tires etc and I guess would be called a "garden tractor" but was a cheaper alternative B)
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,315 #3 Posted August 8, 2008 They were a vertical shaft, probably more of a yard tractor than a true garden tractor, and probably had a Hydro-Gear brand hydrostatic brand transmission.
WheelHorse_of_course 99 #4 Posted August 8, 2008 OK. I wondered as Joe's is parting out one that was sold under the Ford/New Holland name. Attention vertical guys Joe's has a snow blower and a tiller for this.
Nick 13 #5 Posted August 8, 2008 I used a Toro model 269 to plow snow one year and it was a fairly well built tractor. If the New Holland Joe's is parting out is that same model then it could have the electric hydraulic lift system. The hydraulic lift might come in handy for someone to build a project.
