HorseWhisperer 243 #1 Posted March 18, 2013 Would I be able to tear the cylinder on my 1054 apart and reseal.Perhaps drag into my local hydro repair shop and not have them look at me sideways?I believe it to be a very simple fix maybe consisting of a couple seal but I have no idea or where with all to begin looking for replacement parts. The hy2 pump is not so wierd but the cylinder may be proprietary? Lane Ranger 11,126 #2 Posted March 20, 2013 Do a search in Modifications, Restorations and Customizations files for "1054 Pump". Several postings should come up on pumps and cylinders for the 1054/953. The 1054 long lift cylinder can be rebuilt by replacing o rings. There are a couiple posting about how to do that on this site. I have rebuilt pumps and replaced springs , O rings and seals but I have never done the lift cylinder repair job yet. JUSS10 250 #3 Posted March 20, 2013 i just rebuilt the lift cylinder on my 1054. cost me $2 and an hour of my time. really easy to do. pull the hydro lines (make sure to label them) tie them us so as not to loose a ton of fluid. once you get the cylinder out, unscrew the pivot at the end of the shaft then you literally pull the top and bottom of the cylinder out. the fittings on the hydro hoses hold the whole thing together, so with those out, it just comes apart. Then take the parts to a hydraulic shop and let them find the right o rings. it was really simple. They even put the new o rings on for me so all i had to do was re assemble it when i got home. However, not all cylinders that came on the 1054 are rebuildable (at least my first one wasn't) I was going to repair the original cylinder that came on my tractor but found that the ends were welded in place. I bought a used one from someone here on the forum and then rebuilt it. Justin
