Lawn Ranger kid 14 #1 Posted March 16, 2013 I bought a brand new drive belt from toro that is the correct part number and length, but it seems to be way to long and is not tight. I have measured it and it is the correct length and width. Any ideas? Thanks Josh
Shynon 7,482 #2 Posted March 17, 2013 Mine takes an 8334. Does the belt you have match the one you took off? Correct pulleys? Tom
chrisd200(inactive) 56 #3 Posted March 17, 2013 Don't know if this will be of any help but.......... I bought a new drive belt for my 416-8 from local toro dealer. It was the correct part # and everything. Dang thing was too short by at least an inch. Store I bought it from said they had seen that happen before. Maybe, maybe not, I don't know but they were happy to take it back (I had not run the belt or damaged it) and they sized up the correct one for me. Good Luck! Lawn Ranger kid 14 #4 Posted March 17, 2013 The belt is an 8334 and i measured it it is 84.8 inches long.
meadowfield 2,756 #5 Posted March 17, 2013 That looks too long, I think I started a thread over a year ago as mine came with no belt. I bought an equivalent 85 21/32" ( I think) and ended up swapping for one that was 82", that one fits perfect. I think sometimes there are errors comparing ID and OD. Lawn Ranger kid 14 #6 Posted March 17, 2013 Yeah ill probably have to get a shorter belt. even though it calls for the 84.8 belt its just to long. Wish i had a length to off of. My didnt come with a belt either.
chrisd200(inactive) 56 #7 Posted March 18, 2013 Is it possible you may have a lot of pulley wear and the belt is sitting very low in the pulleys. Don't know, just a guess. I have seen this happen before.
