Gonna get me a Flat Top!!

Recommended Posts

And I don't mean a 57 Chevy haircut either! Friend has a C-145 that he's selling to me reasonable. Kohler runs great but the Eaton 1100 may be questionable. Was working ok but started to slow down. Sorta knowing it's history before my friend got it I'm hoping a lack of maintenance will be cured with a new filter and a Mobil 1 oil change. I plan on making it a dedicated tall chute blower tractor and lawn grunt.

Always had a flat top when stationed, early 60's, while stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC.

Was a decent haircut too!

Sorry, nice Wheel Horse! Good luck!

I think if it works out mechanically I might just paint it Hot Rod primer Gray and do up the wheels red! :)

I like your idea Mike. I will make you a set of hood decals (N/C) but change up the color scheme. Maybe in the workhorse red. I'm thinking of doing something a bit different with my 16 HP f I ever get it home.

Terry, Are you talking the whole tractor Workhorse red or 2 tone it like a Work Horse? Is the red a different color than original red?

I hope the tranny works out for ya. I would love to "stumble" across a C-145 or C-165 auto.

When I read your post I had a vision of a Balckhood in the GT1800 grey so wondered what it would look like with the darker workhorse red decals

Here is a very quick and sloppy photoshop to get a idea of it.

You're gonna like that BlackHood! I really like my C-125. Too bad Toro is not still making them. I would probably buy a brand new one.

I too like the black hoods. I don't have one so I am looking for one also! They look beefier to me than than earlier (B-80) or later (416-8) models.

When are you bringing it home Mike?

My friend doesn't like using his trailer in the salt. I could go get it but it's a 65 mile round trip. We work together so he can bring it half way. I'm in no hurry. Gives me time to get caught up on some stuff before another project.

It's loaded on my friends trailer so i should be getting it tomorrow. The rust spots on the hood look evil! I'm naming it Marvin after the martian on the Bugs Bunny cartoons.
