855 belt guard help

Recommended Posts

Killer 2000 Chevy

I picked a drive belt guard up and got it finished up today. I know the front tab bolts to the engine, but don't have a clue where the other mounting points are located. Do I need a bracket anywhere on it? I got the tractor missing both belt guards. I don't have any mounting pieces except the bolt in the engine. :banghead:  Any pictures would be great.

I have never had an 855, but here is a pic of my '68 500 Special belt guard tabs that may or may not be similar:

The ones in the centre console are "L" shaped and pass through a slot in the console and are welded to the inside.  They are prone to breaking off.  There is also a "Z" shaped mount on the frame (visible in the pic).

Hope this is of some help.  :scratchead:

I have the same problem I believe with my 1075!

I just got a belt guard but there is nothing to attach it to!? :eusa-think:

Kevin, I've never had a 1075 either but I do have a 1276 which is probably similar.

I'm thinking there should be a tab through the slot in the console in your picture.

And the 1276 has a "Z" shaped bracket on the frame, near the hoodstand.
