Bought a 75 C-100

I bought this back in December. It was up at the farm in storage. I had been wanting to bring it to my house but I have no heat in the garage. I got this from a one owner. He died in 1982 and it sat in his shed for 30 years. It was started once and a while. Mowed the yard a few times since. The daughter lived in the house and I think she passed and it became part of an estate sale. I couldn't get the son to budge much on the price. It took 1 1/2 months of going back and forth before we agreed on a price. It came with a snowthrower and 36" RD mower deck. The deck still has the original wheels in good shape. Snowthrower looks hardly used. I don't think it has more that a 150-200 hundred hours on it. I'm going to clean it up and use it for plow duty and a backup mower. It needs some minor repairs. Today I put a carb kit, new fuel lines, fuel filter,  PTO clutch plate, Sparkplug(I think it had the original in it). and air cleaner on it. Here are a few pictures.

Its real nice to see an original unmolested specimen! Nice score, definitly worth the time you put into making the deal :eusa-clap:  .

I have an unmolested 1975 C-100 except the paint has paded out and it has a nice patina now  (rust?)

No rust anywhere. A lot of grease on it.

I always liked the C-100's. That is one of the nicest originals I have ever seen. Nice score on it.

You are one Lucky guy to find one in that condition with the attachments. Look's in superb condition for it's age. Pour loads of care and attention on it and use it occasionally. It's got years of use in it still. Well done.

Thanks for the comments guys. I did some cleaning on the C-100 up today. My next project is to remove the bearings from the rims and soak in brake cleaner. I'm going to try to shine the paint up on the rims too. Cleaned up and greased the PTO. I disgarded what was left of the thrust bearing inside the PTO. The small bearing had disintegrated and was ground up.

A few more pics. I removed the tube from one of the front tires. Ordered new front wheel bearings, I decided to move the seat back.  i may extend the seat springs. I'm not sure yet.The battery tray was broke. Picked up a battery tray on E-Bay a couple of months ago.

I got this idea from another thread. It worked really well to slide the hub out.

I repaired the seat using a vinyl repair kit. The front corners had small tears on each side I used a solder iron to bond the vinyl. It's not perfect, but turned out nice. I decided to fix the seat after I read the post about someone paying $400.00 on flea bay for a C series seat. The front tire that had a tube in it isn't leaking. Cleaned the C-100 up a little more.
