wh5208speed 646 #1 Posted March 10, 2013 I have been down Okeechobee Florida bass fishing since Thursday and I got a text from a friend that knows I like Wheelhorses that there was a C-161-Auto at a consignment sale back in Ohio. He sent me some photos of the tractor and we set a max bid price. He ended up winning it!! So this is the 1st horse I have ever bought whilel being in a bass boat fishing in Florida!! Must say that technology can have it's benfits. Here is a of pic that he sent me from the sale. I hope to get it picked up sometime durning this upcoming week. squonk 43,911 #2 Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) Wilst I, stood for 2 hrs. at an auction next to a tractor that some dummy bid over $200 more than the limit I set and I had to convince myself to even go that high! Edited March 10, 2013 by squonk

Funny thing about auctions, You dont have any idea what something is worth until the bidding is over, and next weekend it may quit at half that or twice that, And that seems to be directly affected by whether I am there and interested in the item or not.

wh5208speed 646 #10 Posted March 11, 2013 Never thought of Wheel Horse hunting as fishing...but I like the thought process!! I just need to use the fish finder more to locate more Red Bass! We were fishing for Largemouth. On the 1st day my boat of 2 people caught 94 Largemouth bass. There was a cold front that moved thru the week before and the fish had really backed off of feeding as the water temp fell. I felt really fortunate as our guide landed on a honey hole while most of the other boats were struggling. Some had as few as 5 fish for the whole day. I didn't brag, just told them we had a good time On the 2nd day we caught 32 bass with a different guide. We ended up catching 4 unwanted fish....2 channel catfish, 1 bowfin, and 1 gar. The only bait we used were live shiners. Most of the bass were in the 2-4 lbs range, which is excellent for Ohio fishing....but pretty average for down there. What kills me is one of my employees and I swapped guides the 2nd day and he ended up with an 8lbs 2oz!!! Oh well, maybe next time! We had a supplier take 20 of my company's employees who sold their products and covered all of our expenses, so no complaints from me . I got the business card of the guide I had on the 1st day and I think I am going to take my brother fishing there this November, which is when he said is the best time to fish there. He said for the month of Oct and Nov they averaged over 100 bass per day for the whole month!!! Really nice having my buddy keep an eye out for me on the tractor. He is a super nice guy and if he sees a Horse he lets me know right away. I got a pretty good deal and I didn't have to stand at the auction all day either! (Win-Win). He bid and won it, loaded it up, and dropped it off at my work on Saturday. I am going to give him a little extra for going out of his way to help me. I have borrowed my wife's suburban and have my trailer hooked up for a trip tomorrow afternoon to get it. Also, hoping to land a nice Glock 29 that I have been hunting for a while I am in the neighborhood. bitten 134 #13 Posted March 12, 2013 Finding an old WheelHorse might be easier than finding bullets for the Glock. We had our local consignment sale this weekend and this was the first time in years that I didnt go, so it was probably this one that your friend went to. Oh well good luck with it.
