Zeek 2,286 #1 Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) Has anyone had personal experience with this guy? http://gardentractorpullingtips.com/index.htm I ask because I sent him a carb. When I had questions before spending money, he answered in 1/2 a day. Now that he has my carb, he doesn't respond to email or phone . Before we have different conversation about my experience, I'd like to know if anyone has had a good experience OTHER THAN reading his website. . . any anonymous person can post things . . . I do not mean you've had a conversation with him or whatever . . . I mean exchanged dollars for services. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt before we move forward . . . enough said . . . I'm pretty sure he's not an RS member, otherwise we would be proceeding differently. Jim_M 179 #2 Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) He has had some legal problems lately. He may be away from his shop right now. I don't think you'll be able to contact him by e mail, he doesn't have a computer anymore. I'm sure he will take care of you when he's able to. I've never heard anyone say he ripped them off. I bought parts from him 3 or 4 years ago and had them within a few days. Edited March 9, 2013 by Jim_M

Rock farmer 41 #4 Posted March 9, 2013 I talked to his father and then him the day before yesterday. He was sick for a while and got backed up. I ordered some carb parts from him. It's been taking a long time but, I believe they will get here. He does have a computer. Joe
joel_400 59 #5 Posted March 9, 2013 Ive dealt with him years ago. It took FOREVER to get my parts. Then he told me he was out of one part so I told him to just bill my card and send it when he got it. Its been six years! haha I think when he gets super busy he forgets things too. But he never billed me so its ok. joel

Zeek 2,286 #10 Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) Yeah, his dad wasn't lying, he's sick. http://www.showmeboone.com/sheriff/offenders/registeredoffenders.asp Unfortunately I became aware of this after I sent him a carb when I started checking into him after not getting back to me. At this point I may just let him have the carb and tell him where to place it rather than give him any of my money. He's lucky I don't live within driving distance . . . Zeek 2,286 #13 Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) Zeek you should have sent the carb to me Yea I never thought of that, thanks Brian . . . if I manage to get it back (which I doubt) I will. If I can't reach goofy in the next week or two, I'm going to have to see if someone here has a replacement they wanna sell. JimmyJam 542 #15 Posted March 10, 2013 Yikes! Wow! ....ok I was going to send this guy an engine to rebuild....ahhh not gonna! Does anyone know where one gets a K181s rebuilt, without costing the price of something new or Japanese replacement!
JackC 617 #16 Posted March 10, 2013 Google "(state) small engine rebuilders". There are lots of engine re-builders but not sure if they will do small engines. There are shops that the pullers use but I don't have the names and numbers. It would be nice to have a directory. I wonder if the puller community has a directory? Wheel-N-It 2,972 #17 Posted March 11, 2013 Sorry to hear you are having this problem Zeek. I am glad that it was just a carb, and not an entire engine. That would really be bad news.
Duff 206 #18 Posted March 13, 2013 Man, that sux! Not that it counts for much, but I sent him three carbs for rebuild last winter and all three came back in terrific condition. But I have no use for pervs in this world! Duff
Buckshot 1 15 #19 Posted March 13, 2013 I heard about that about Brian, about a year and half ago on a another site. Never put much stock in it, but their is the proof. I had dealings with him a few years back. He done a good job and returned my parts quickly and the price was right. He must have/access to a puter, he's been posting on Kohler engine group site. CRE1992 135 #20 Posted March 13, 2013 I wasnt aware of that. But if you look at the date that was back in 2010... I ordered parts last year around this time, and they were shipped to me promptly. -Charles

Zeek 2,286 #22 Posted March 23, 2013 (edited) The issue has finally been resolved . . . I tried calling last weekend. The line got picked up and you could hear kids in the background (not good) and then got disconnected. Called several more times right after and got no answer. I emailed him at the same time and told him I wanted the carb back ASAP without being repaired. Strangely enough he replied within the hour and told me "too late' it's already done" and said how to pay. I really didn't have an option at this point, so I paid and got the carb back a week later. It looks like it was repaired, but I haven't pulled it apart yet. Anyway, lesson learned. I personally would not deal with him again for the primary reason listed in previous posts as well the poor communication and BS with the phone. You can find better options. Fortunately, between downloading porn, he has managed to put together an informative website that you can take advantage of . . . Don1977 604 #23 Posted March 23, 2013 Glad to hear you got your carburetor back. I had though of ordering a Kohler crank shaft from him now, I am afraid I would never get it.
