Raider12 13 #1 Posted August 5, 2008 B) I located one of those deals you only can wish of. It was a 1990 520H with a 48in deck. This was at an estate sale. The mower deck had never seen grass and the tractor has onlt 34 hrs on the clock. Normally I would see red flags on this kind of deal. But if you saw the tractor you too would have had you hand on your walet. A little over $1000 got it. I missed it by just a few hours. %*#@^%&* Crap! Iv been mad all day! I even thought if kicking the dog...........it's my neighbors dog B)
Rollerman 290 #2 Posted August 5, 2008 I actually had something similiar to me happen last weekend too. I was offered a trade for my ATV....some cash & a 96 520 for it. Seemed like it was set in stone friday evening but had gone cold by saturday afternoon. Oh well...garage is getting REAL full anyways. I forwarded the guys info to Eldon...maybe he'll look into on his way to Joels?
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,610 #3 Posted August 5, 2008 I just had one of those moments today. Had a chance for a free B-115, but called just a little late (though I waited until 8:00 am like the ad said). http://stlouis.craigslist.org/grd/783298849.html

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,610 #6 Posted August 5, 2008 Terry... that ad's gone already. Jason, Here's what it said: Free B-115 Wheelhorse Riding Lawn Mower (Valley Park) Reply to: sale-783298849@craigslist.org Date: 2008-08-04, 8:07PM CDT I have a B-115 five speed Wheelhorse riding mower for free. This mower is only good for parts as the engine is locked up. All you have to do is haul it off. It is model year 1982. Call Rich at 636-xxx-xxxx between 8am and 2pm. * Location: Valley Park It's just as well I guess. I would have just repower it and either give it to my brother or sold it. wh500special 2,274 #7 Posted August 5, 2008 Terry, I saw that ad late last night and figured I'd call this morning since I will be down that way for work next week. But FIRST, I checked the RedSquare classifieds site (I mean this website of course, not some bulletin board in the middle of a communist parade zone) to see if you'd posted it yet...had I seen it there I would have known you were on the case already . Not seeing a post from you, I assumed that either you hadn't seen it OR were trying to snipe it too ... I think I beat your call this morning (8:00 sharp for you is 9:00 for me), but it was already spoken for! Not a bad price for one of those machines . Better luck next time. T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,610 #8 Posted August 5, 2008 Steve, I wish it was you that got it. I called at exactly 8:02 and it was gone. I thought it would have been wise to call within the time the ad said, but I guess whoever got it, didn't do so. B)
BPjunk 184 #9 Posted August 5, 2008 How about reading a local auction listing that included a 1972 Raider 14 .... so ya' hitch up the trailer and drive through a tight parking lot with this big long trailer to hual the Raider 14 home in only to find out the owner decided not to auction off the Raider 14. <_< Oh Well. Nick 13 #10 Posted August 5, 2008 I might beat that Bill. I hooked up the trailer drove over an hour to an auction and parked close to a mile down the road. We stood around another couple hours to see the Wheel Horse sell but I didnt think the tractor was still going to sell soon so I went to move the truck closer but left Dad there to bid for me just in case. They did jump past some other items to the tractor then it wouldnt start so the auctioneer couldnt get any offers. I think Dad made a $100 offer and thats when the owner decided he didnt want to sell it. Im not sure that was even legal. Either way I should have I just got in the truck and drove home.
