papaglide 542 #1 Posted February 17, 2013 Will a 48" snow blade from a 416-8 fit onto a GT-14? If not can it be made to fit? Thanks.
Kelly 1,033 #2 Posted February 17, 2013 I've never had a GT14 blade, but have seen pics of them, if it is not a direct fit, it should not take much to make it work.
squonk 43,913 #3 Posted February 17, 2013 I had a GT 14 and I didn't notice any difference in the blade. But who am I to say. I'm not the brightest bulb in the bat cave. Should have kept the GT too! :banghead:
papaglide 542 #4 Posted February 17, 2013 I had a Gt 14 before also. Traded it away. Wish that I didn't. Possibly could trade for it back. Trying to see if one of my current blades could fit it. If they fit, it would be a plus to trying to get it back.
bitten 134 #5 Posted February 18, 2013 Yes it should fit.
GT14 243 #6 Posted February 18, 2013 The frame of the GT is about 3-4 longer. I mounted my C-101 blade on mine and had to move the axle bracket forward.
Kelly 1,033 #7 Posted February 18, 2013 The correct axle bracket for the GT14 mounts on the front of the axlle housing not under it like the newer tractors, and is wider, it goes on the outside of the plow frame unlike the newer ones.
papaglide 542 #8 Posted February 19, 2013 I don't quite get it. Axle bracket equals quick attach? How do you move it forward ? Thanks for the input.
Don1977 605 #9 Posted February 19, 2013 It's a different bracket that mounts in front of the axle. The C-Series and later models mount under the axle.
papaglide 542 #10 Posted February 19, 2013 Thanks. The blade itself will fit but I need the specific bracket to attach: not the bracket that I currently use.
Brrly1 1,146 #11 Posted February 20, 2013 The bracket you are looking for, is the one that hooks to (if you had a three point it would hook to the front part of that bracket which would come down on the front side of rear axle). Don't know if three point is on tractor but sounds doubtful. So then you are looking for a bracket (quick attach) that mounts on the rear axle but it does not bolt up like most other brackets that you are probably use to bolting from the bottom to top. This bolts on from the front side of axle secures to the backside. I probably confused you because I confused myself. Hope it makes sense. If you cant figue out I will try to get some pictures. papaglide 542 #12 Posted February 20, 2013 John, I am confused. This tractor does have a 3 point though. I can use the 48" plow but I need the specific bracket for the GT 14 right?
