Dresden Guy 24 #1 Posted February 11, 2013 I just installed a "rebuild kit" in my Kohler carb on my K-341 (C-160) and noticed that the inlet valve seat that came in the rebuild had a "***" on it, and the one I removed did not. The EBay vendor made note twice in the item description that the valve seat had the "***". Is this going to make a difference in the card functioning and/or performance? I could not find and mention in Brian Miller's Carb Info. I have included a picture. I need to know before I put the carb back on the tractor. It's almost plowing and tilling time!!! rmaynard 16,349 #2 Posted February 11, 2013 I noticed that the "censor" built into the forum software changed the word that you used to something else, but I know what you meant. If the new seat screws all the way in without a problem, then that little stickyout piece won't effect anything.

Thanks Maynard..... the inlet valve seat with it's washer does seem to bottom out snugly and I didn't know if somehow the "stickyout" thing might cause some unwanted venturi effect?? rmaynard 16,349 #4 Posted February 11, 2013 The idea of the float valve is only to allow the gas that is being pushed in by the pump to stop when the bowl is full and the float lifts to close the hole.
Dresden Guy 24 #5 Posted February 11, 2013 The idea of the float valve is only to allow the gas that is being pushed in by the pump to stop when the bowl is full and the float lifts to close the hole. Thanks again Maynard..... I put the carb back on, and hit the key and it started the first time and then after I set the low & high jets, it sounded like a new K-341 should sound. There sounds most men (and some ladies) can relate to: (1) an idling old Harley bike, or a1954 Christ Craft V8 I/O, or an 1944 JD "single-lunger" .......you get the point. Sweet Music!
