Dash ID

I stopped by my local dealer today to shoot the breeze. It is a one man shop on saturday with only the owner there.

I got a condensor and asked him if he might have a plastic dash plate for the c series.

He went in the back and came out with one but was shaking his head.

Anyway, it had holes for choke and throttle, not slots like mine has for the c-160. It had a cigar lighter hole and the light switch hole was rectangular.

Beautiful piece still in the plastic with metal backing plate.

What model does it sound like this is for?

Also asked him about the red dust/grease caps but he had none. You never know. He has been there a long time and his father before him.

I think it's for a little earlier than yours, early seventies.

Are you sure the rectangular hole was for a light switch? I thought the older machines with an electric PTO used a rectangular dash mounted switch. Maybe it was for an Electro 12 or a GT-14.

Could be sparky. I thought it was for a rocker switch for the lights but it could have been for PTO. I would have taken a pic but my fonecam is broke.

1971 should be the only year for push/pull controls in a plastic dash panel. (excluding any oddball exceptions I can't think of)

Then that must be it Terry. Just holes for push/pull. And the hole that looks like for a rocker switch.

It looks like the one that MikesRJ posted in that link. Thanks Terry.

I'm finding if I respond early enough, and vague enough, I all most sound like I know what I'm talking about!

Look like I was way off on my theory that that the rectangular hole was for the electric PTO switch :hide: . Oops!
