copperhead 38 #1 Posted February 2, 2013 Going to look at a grader blade that came off an older Simplicity tractor today. Any chance that this thing might be able to mount up to my C-100? I don't even know how a WH grader blade attaches, so any info would be appreciated.

copperhead 38 #3 Posted February 2, 2013 Here you go! This fits on my 704 and goes right on my C160 with attach a matic. Thanks. Nice job on the dual mounting. Hopefully I can make a deal for it. If I do, I'm sure I'll be back with more questions.
copperhead 38 #4 Posted February 2, 2013 Got to take a look at the blade(sorry no pic). It appears to be an original Simplicity blade circa early 70's. I couldn't find any markings on it, but the owner had a Simplicity Landlord with numerous other attachments which were purchased all together. Almost NOS condition. It doesn't appear that it was ever used. The blade is reversable and has what seem to be foot rests mount to the top of the blade. His asking price is 200, but I think I could do a little better. Any thoughts?
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #5 Posted February 2, 2013 Are you capable of welding & metal fabrication? If you want a grader blade to use, you could build one a lot cheaper than $200. I built mine by recycling a Sears dozer blade and part of the tractor. Total cost was around $23 - including the paint.

copperhead 38 #7 Posted February 2, 2013 Are you capable of welding & metal fabrication? Unfortunately no...I'm barely able to pass myself off as a competent carpenter... Nice work on yours...how long do you think it took to make up?
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #8 Posted February 2, 2013 Nice work on yours...how long do you think it took to make up? I'd guess around two hours. I built it to use, so I wasn't fussy about appearance.

squonk 43,843 #10 Posted February 2, 2013 I can tell you that Simpicity blade if it's like mine is extra heavy duty. more so than your average dozer blades. I couldn't believe how much dirt I pushed with my little 704.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #11 Posted February 3, 2013 TT that looks awesome! How about a few more pics. Swivel point and such. Lots of info in the cobweb-filled closets of RedSquare past. Here's a post with better pictures of mine: I noticed I was off a little on the cost when I read my old post. It was $13 not $23. Make sure you check out that whole topic. :handgestures-thumbup:

copperhead 38 #13 Posted February 3, 2013 I can tell you that Simpicity blade if it's like mine is extra heavy duty. more so than your average dozer blades. It must be one in the same..this was one thick slab of steel, I couldn't believe how heavy it is. I've got some time to think about it. It's not on the market so to speak. A friend of mine owns it and only offered to sell it because I inquired about it.
