Kevbo 81 #1 Posted January 27, 2013 Hey guys I wanted to show you the setup that my newly purchased C-101 has for it's exhaust...I am rather concerned about two things: 1) The thin pipe is super loud. 2) It wiggles like crazy and the angle pipe is attached with rivets! So...what would you guys recommend? What does the stock C-101 muffler look like? What other muffler would you recommend? If anyone has links to an ebay muffler, online store links, or if any vendors on RedSquare has something that you think I might be interested in let me know Here are some pics: Thanks hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend! :music-listening:
JackC 617 #2 Posted January 27, 2013 See number 26. There is a NOS muffler for the 8 horse for sale on eBay for about $60.00 plus shipping. http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=toro_consumer&mn=81-08K801%2C+C-81+8-Speed+Tractor%2C+1978&dn=810006R2-06R20041-00020
fourwheels0 191 #3 Posted January 27, 2013 wow i've seen some rigging but that's bad. just get a straight pipe and small (pepper box) muffler and you'll be fine.
rydogg 186 #4 Posted January 27, 2013 I like way the previous owner put this stack on my 552, is has a small muffler so it's not as noisy as a straight pipe.
artfull dodger 440 #5 Posted January 27, 2013 You can get a muffler for a gravely that has a side inlet and a top or end outlet that lends itself to being a stack. I prefer to put the correct factory exhaust on them anymore. Stacks put pressure on the block casting unless braced well, Nice way to burn oneself if your not carefull. The factory nelson muffler set up for that tractor sounds nice if in good shape. Just my 2 cents. Mike
