It needs a bit of work and i would appreciate if some one could point me the right direction of the original engine type.

Hi Jabba :WRS: . The 800 look's in good shape. Yours look's like a 'C' Series of 76 - early 80s. Difficult to know what your original engine size was, but it was most likely a Kohler of either 10/12/14 or 16hp. Ignore the Mountfield Plate details, there should be another black on Ali Wheel Horse Plate with a Model number like 71-12k801 and a serial number. Once you find that, we can probably pinpoint it for you and direct you to Service/ User Manuals etc.

It has been hacked about a bit, but if your planning to get it back to near original design/spec, you should find the parts around. Finding a decent Kohler may be a challenge. but not impossible.

Good to have you aboard, enjoy and by all means ask away if you need info or help. You've found the best place in the world for it.

Regards

Hi, welcome to redsquare!

from the steering wheel and hoodstand... I'd say a 1979 ish C-series.

If you can send serial number it will help (front of hoodstand near regulator unit) guessing it will be 91-10k8-92 or similar...

cheers

Looks like a C-121 to me, I've just spotted that one of the triagular section cross bar engine mounts is still on the frame just behind the hood. If so then it had the non-flat oil pan Kohler. Not sure how often they come up but I'm pretty sure they don't command the same price level as the flat oil pan ones.
