Stigian 1,234 #1 Posted January 20, 2013 Yep, it's gone... My little Raider 10 has gone to a new home after many years of ownership.. It was my first Wheel Horse and the one that has got me addicted to them. I found the down on it's luck Raider at a local agricultural auction many years ago in a rather run down state.. Some bit's were straighter than others!! I was going to leave it as it was, just get it running and usable as I didn't have anything to cut my lawn with at the time.. Well, that was the plan... Many months later it emerged from the shack looking much better than when it went in.. In the mean time I had bought a 312-8 for lawn cutting duties.. Lot's of good (and hard working) times have been had..
Stigian 1,234 #2 Posted January 20, 2013 Sadly good times sometimes have to come to an end.. With her sold on Fleabay, Pete and I went for one last drive.. A few days later the Raider looked like a pile of parts.... That's because it was!! (Rolf Harris mode on) "Can you guess where it is yet"? (Rolf mode off)... Yep it's wrapped up nice and snug on a pallet. Getting the pallet on the trailer was er... fun... Of course I had to make a video of the Raider being taken apart So there you go folks, a kinda potted history of my little Raider.. Yes, I am missing it a bit.. But on the other hand it's good to know it's gone to a good home where she will get a full nut and bolt restoration. So.... The question is.. Will she get replaced??? Yes is the answer, but it may be a little while until it happens, so I'm not going to let on what the new Wh is yet... :D

Anglo Traction 761 #6 Posted January 20, 2013 Sorry for your Loss Ian , but then I'm Happy for you that you'll have another to replace it . Meanwhile, make the most of that open space in your Shack!. Nice Vid also .
Sparky-(Admin) 23,256 #7 Posted January 20, 2013 So heres a question? Is the new owner a member here? Anyone doing a full "nut and bolt" resto on a WH should be told about this site. I hope you included a note in the pallet of parts leading the new owner to Redsquare ! Mike.............
squonk 43,917 #8 Posted January 20, 2013 Hope the door of the shack was open when running it out of fuel! :)

I hope you included a note in the pallet of parts leading the new owner to Redsquare ! Mike............. On several occasions now in conversation with guys that I've picked up WH stuff from I've got the impression that they're aware of the forum but presumably use it as guests which says much about what's available here but forwhatever reason they're apparently reluctant to join in. I know that time is an issue for many but it is well worth making the effort in my humble opinion. Andy
meadowfield 2,756 #11 Posted January 20, 2013 Andy, Of the 70-80 decal sets I've made, probably 2/3 are not on red square and I can't get them to join in!!!

Some people are strange, quite a few times I've told Wh folk about this ere fine forum but none of them have signed up!! Maybe it's a lack of time, or maybe they are just not forum kinda people... Anyway the chap has been told about this forum (ok, it was only last night.. I'm still catching up with my "to do" list), but as he has recently also bought a 520 and a C-125 there is hope for him Hope the door of the shack was open when running it out of fuel! Hi Mark, yep giving the shack a good tidy is on the cards.. It might even happen today as a bit of space will be needed for sorting the beasts bodywork out. meadowfield 2,756 #13 Posted January 25, 2013 Ahhhh, room for a spray booth now perhaps.... :D
Stigian 1,234 #14 Posted January 25, 2013 Wish I had the room for a spray booth Mark.. And a separate lathe/oily bits room, but alas I will never have the space here..
Stormin 9,985 #15 Posted January 25, 2013 The trouble with room, is the more you have, the more you find to fill it.
pmackellow 12 #16 Posted January 26, 2013 Sad to hear your first horse has gone Ian, but I think The Beast will more than compensate !!
