Battery for D200

Recommended Posts

CDECKER39

Hello to all! I am a new member and am in the process of getting a '74 D200 up and running. I need a replacement battery for it, but, my owners manual does not give a size for replacement. I don't know what battery was in it as it did not have one when I got it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Chris

There is room for a car/truck battery. I use top post batteries with 750 cranking amps or better.

Measure the battery tray and the battery hold down and get the largest size battery that will fit under the hold down.

Either side post or top post depending on your wiring.

The more cranking amps the better.

It is also good to be sure the carburetor is clean and the fuel pump is strong to avoid excessive cranking.
