Shes slowly starting to resemble a Tractor again. Im all out of pieces that are done, so I have to get back to the blaster and paint booth.

How did you refinish the PTO mechanism and voltage regulator?

The C-160 is coming out awesome! I think I'd have a hard time getting that one real dirty...

And a little more garage time today thanks to the Wife and Daughter who did the mowing around the house.

Next will be the wiring which I am a little apprehensive about. Just aint that savvy on it but I have to learn I guess.

looking real nice Jack.

Hey don't get worried about the wiring. the 160 is a fairly simple tractor to wire and as long as you have the right terminals, decent wire and some decent crimpers it should be a walk in the park. just take your time and enjoy the experience.

She breathed again today after 15 months downtime. I must admit I was apprehensive about firing it up being my first kohler rebuild and complete rewire.

But after priming the line to the pump and blowing into the gas tank a couple of times, it started within seconds. Some tweaking on the carb and it is running smooth.  The big muffler is off a cub quiet series and comes off if I can get the right one at the show.

It was nice for running it the first time though so I could listen for any strange noises but all was OK. One issue now though is no reading on the Amp meter and dummy me forgot to see if it was registering when I brought it home after buying it originally. Tranny sounds fine and all gears are quiet. Decals are ordered from Terry.  This will be the Snowblower machine.

Well I guess its finally done. Well 99% anyway. A few loose ends to tie up yet and  I still have to locate a muffler so the PTO is accessible. Hope to find one at the show. The decals arrived from Terry and they are top notch. Been a long project for someone as slow as me but it was fun!

Got the Muffler on today. It looks and sounds great.     One more Hurtle is to find out why it doesn't charge. Hope to talk to the electrical gurus at the show or maybe post a thread in the Electrical forum.

Also had a C160. An awesome little beast. At first I was fooled by its small size but it gave everything you could expect from any other 16hp Kohler. I dont know if youve had one before this here beauty but you are in for a treat.

Mines not as cherry as yours but it a worker and it sleeps outdoors (Barn is too full of projects already :P )
