47JDG 65 #1 Posted January 3, 2013 I picked up a few sets of these new front tires a couple of weeks ago. They are 4.80 x 4 x 8. At first I wasn't crazy about the aggressive tread but the price was right..$5 a piece, so I decided what the heck. They are "Polar-Pro" tires. I cleaned the wheels up and painted them last night before mounting the tires today. I like the way they look now. I probably would not want them on my everyday mowing machine, but for a toy tractor I think they look cool. Also in the pic is a parts Kohler I picked up as well recently. I got it for $20, it came complete but disassembled, just as you see. It came with a good carb as well. It has the correct recoil starter that works good is the main reason I got it. A guy had it on a log splitter and when he could no longer get it to start, he took it all apart. Then he didn't know how to put it back together I guess. I just need to swap the recoil over to the tractor now. Slowly its coming back to life..
AMC RULES 37,196 #2 Posted January 3, 2013 Looks like it coming together nicely...so, are those fronts atv tires?
Kelly 1,033 #3 Posted January 3, 2013 They look like walk behind blower tires, you got a good deal on the tires and the parts engine.
47JDG 65 #4 Posted January 3, 2013 They come on new golf carts from the factory when they ship them to the dealer. By using these skinny tires they are able to double stack the golf carts for shipping. I imagine they are truly meant for a self propelled walk behind snow thrower as Kelly said above. They came on golf cart bolt pattern wheels, and I had to take them off those before mounting them to mine. I seen someone in another thread was asking about tri-rib tires for snow plowing and throwing for better traction when turning. I thought I would post this picture just as another idea for someone getting a snow tractor up and going. I imagine these would grip real good for that purpose. Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted January 3, 2013 Can you get more of the tires?? I might be interested in a few sets, and I'm not far from you.
47JDG 65 #6 Posted January 3, 2013 Kelly, I will check back with them and see if they have more. I know they get them in every time they get a shipment of new carts. The guy I talked with told me they get the same price for the tires by shipping them back to the company. By selling them outright like this they don't have to hassle with shipping them back. I won't be back over that way until next week.

Fun Engineer 859 #10 Posted January 3, 2013 I agree they look like snowblower tires. I've got a golf cart dealer just down the road here. Think I'll pay him a visit tomorrow.
c161rat 185 #11 Posted January 3, 2013 I will give you 10 a piece if you want to deal with the hassle of shipping them to me.........
47JDG 65 #12 Posted January 4, 2013 A few others have asked about shipping also. I don't really want to get into shipping them unless I can find a way to do it easily...like a flat rate shipping box that a pair will fit into. The post office has some boxes like that. I think they charge $7. I will pick up a box and see if a pair will fit in it. If so, then I will gladly send you some.
