Hello Dibnah, this project looks great

As mentioned on that other forum it would be great to see this machine (and/or Workhorse) at Ardingly 2013, bit of a trek for you I know but it would get lots of appreciation...

Cheers Paul, read loads of your posts and articles and its good to see others taking their personal time up for the benifit of others, learnt a lot about horses from your writings- sadly too late for the 700!. Will attempt to finish this project and the skidder so maybe I'll take up the invitation :bow-blue:

Your project is looking great so far, the plow and winch will be a nice add on. :handgestures-thumbupright: :handgestures-thumbupright: Can't wait to see your progress as you finish it. What's the tracked unit in the photo?

Hi, Its a Ransomes MG40 Tracked Dumper 1960/65. They were used on water works for cleaning the sands beds. It follows a skimmer unit which dumped sand directly into it.

Stormin, the ground clearance is a very good point and I've been and taken a few measurements and placing any frame under there will end up getting jammed on something. So taking on board your comments and combining them with Neil's Im still going to fit a blade and winch plus forks but have adjusted my thinking!.

It can be done and reasonably simply I think. Some kind of frame bolted to the chassis sides, passing over the axle with winch on front and plough mounted on pivoting arms.

That Ransomes would look great in my yard.

Sorry, its already promised to another forum member at the moment, I used to watch it on the filter beds (father in law drove it). The skimmer unit was sold locally and i'm trying to rescue it, watch this space!

Then theres the clean and paint!!!!!. Watched a lot of your work on other forum so you know what i'm talking about. :bow-blue: :bow-blue: :bow-blue: .

Somebody here made a plow and attached at the front and used a winch. Then he had no clearence problems under neath and he had greater lifting height. Maybe an idea with the forks being used. Get more tilt back to keep the log on.

Could be this one?.

Alternatively, do a Search in Implements & Attachments section, there are quite a few that may help.

Regards.

Cheers Richard, thats a good way of mounting a winch without destroying anything. Pics dont show it but does that lift a standard underslung plough as I dont want to mount mine the same due to ground clearance.

Hello gents,Progress has been a tad slow due to the wifes illness but shes recovering and being self employed customers arrive anytime of the day or night, and I also look after a mixed fleet of 40 forktrucks so project time gets limited. I will however post some pictures on of Widestride and Commando 7.I really want to attend the Wheelhorse round up this year so i'll have to get a move on.
