TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #1 Posted July 30, 2008 I normally wouldn't admit to owning this particular type of machine, but I just bought this on Sunday off a local CL ad. I don't think I have ever seen an older MTD that was taken care of as good as this one. According to sources, this one is a 1991 model. The Briggs engine sump cover was terribly worn at the bottom crankshaft bearing and was actually binding to the point of being totally powerless when the deck was engaged. It now has an 11hp I.C. Briggs engine from a 1983 WH B-115 under the hood, and is ready to move on to the next owner.

TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #5 Posted July 30, 2008 The fastest speed is toward the front, so that's where I leave it. (you know me. ) Have to move it to the back for "park" though. B)
