glgrumpy 35 #1 Posted December 22, 2012 Commado 800 with just 4spd axle. 3rd gear was blocked off with plate. Removed it and tried a drive. No noise, but pops out right away, unless I hold lever over. What might I be looking at to fix? Be splitting then? Think just a bent shift fork? meadowfield 2,545 #4 Posted December 23, 2012 Third gear sucks on some old transmissions - 50/50 abuse, ill maintenance.... Easiest fix is to drop an 8 speed in, providing you have the hubs and are prepared to maybe have to swap a pulley/belt.
