I have a chance to buy one at a local action next week. Auctoineer says owner says it runs and he was about to put it on his log splitter, also for sale. Of course all auction buys are "as is where is". Any ideas on value ??? If I do get it ,Question on the wiring I see a lead to starter I assume I put +12v on this lead to crank engine with -12v to ground . I see one three wire connector. how does this get wired ??? Thanks for all input.

It requires no power for spark. You ground the coil to kill the engine

The 3 wires... two should be same color they are from the stator to charge the battery, the third is the kill wire. Do NOT apply voltage to it. ground it to kill the engine.

Based on the long flywheel side shaft it isn't wh and I doubt very much if it has the thrust bearing necessary to use it with a WH manual PTO. You could use electric PTO

Thanks for the replys. So I understand, no voltage is required to run. I just need to crank , add fuel , and she makes her own spark. Then short the middle green wire to ground to kill engine . The two black wires are not needed to run engine.What voltage should I see from these two wires to charge the battery ?? 14vdc ? Can they be connected directly to the battery after I determine polarity ?? Ed

Forgot to mention, I do have an electric PTO available , so the lack of a thrust bearing should be OK.

The two black wires should show about 30 volts AC. The regulator converts it to DC 12-14volts.
