Stepney 2,354 #1 Posted December 6, 2012 Hello again! Now I don't know what I've done... Today I managed to start the Electro 12, now this starter is going as well, anyways. I got it started, it ran fine and smooth most of the day. I ran it again later that night, and I noticed light in the muffler... Well, I looked closer and it appeared to be running lean, so I slightly enriched the mixture. Not two minuets later, I'm driving across the front lawn, and here comes a spark-show out of the muffler! I was right next to the shed, it started to die. Thinking it may have been out of gas I gave it some choke. It caught, and kept going... Then I was right inside the shed... BOOM! A foot long flame blows out the exhaust, and it coasts to a stop... I don't know what happened, do you? Thanks in advance, Spenser.
Jake Kuhn 1,579 #2 Posted December 6, 2012 is the spark plug loose?
Rock farmer 41 #3 Posted December 6, 2012 I suspect you have carbin build up in the combustion chamber. You may need to remove the head and clean the carbin off. It may be affecting your valves as well. What's going on is fuel is flowing thru your engine and not igniting until it builds up in the exhaust. You could have weak spark, bad timing or a mis adjusted carberator, My Electro 12 is running poorly to. I bought a complete gasket set for it. Hopefully this winter I'll get it in the house and address the same issues. Joe
