14 Automatic transmission ID?

Hello all,

I have a 1973 14 Automatic model 1-0435, that is having some erratic forward and reverse motion issues. In looking at the online files for help on identifying my trans and for troubleshooting guidance, I found something interesting.

The hydrostatic transmission tag says mine is a Sundstrand model 90-1136, serial 03-NA-19366.

According to the AA Wheel Horse ID list 1955-84.pdf file on this website, it should be a model 90-2046.

Has this transmission been swapped out or did Wheel Horse use "whatever they had on hand" in 1973 for this model year? Did they change designs mid year or something for this to be, or has this transmission been swapped out in sometime past?

Bingo! 1973 was the year that the Sundstrand piston-to-piston hydro unit replaced the Hydro-Gear.

The 90-2046 was the earlier Hydro-Gear version used in the 1-0430 14 Automatic.
